Hello and welcome to the Hatsunday website.
Hatsunday has now been going since August 2006, Hatsunday started out after its creators (Brown & Scott) were going for a cheeky cocktail in the summer sun at Barstory in Peckham. Scott had accidentally worn his cowboy hat to the pub but was receiving many compliments from bar staff and bar patrons alike.
Not to be outdone, Brown quickly ran home and grabbed his Top hat and Hatsunday was born. The premise is a simple one. Wear a hat on Sunday! Anyone can do it!! Hatsunday even provide a box full of hats for people to wear if they don’t have their own
Since that 1st Sunday, Hatsunday has grown, with many hats being bought and/or donated to the hatbox (which in itself has grown from a small box, to a very large box, to its current incarnation – a big blue wheelie bin). There has also been a myspace page, a facebook group, a flickr group and now a website where we can keep people updated on the latest hat happenings and view the many pictures taken at Hatsunday (by our very own Hatteratzzi Alice White)
Now coming up on its 4th birthday (August 2010), Hatsunday has decided to make a move away from just a little bit of fun and become more of an event by teaming up with our good friends at NeedleandThread and by moving to our new location at the Bussey Building in Peckham so that hopefully more people can enjoy the hatty fun!!
Please check out the rest of the site where you can meet the hat crew, view photos & videos and find out about other hat related goings on
You can also now like and follow Hatsundays on Facebook and Twitter
And finally in the words of Porky Pig…
H-H-H-H-HATS ALL FOLKS!!!
